There’s been a consistent focus lately with many people that I am working with through my Coaching and Counseling practice…. Cultivating an abundance lifestyle.
Just yesterday during a counseling session, a gentleman in his “mid-life season”, reflected much on his own awakening and evolving clarity about “what matters most”, his eagerness to re-evaluate and invest his resources (time, emotion, energy, attention) in alignment with priorities (including himself), forgive himself for past actions, remove life distractions, restructure his thoughts, shed the “how I’ve always been”, be honest about his insecurities, accept and heal past wounds, slow down and stop chasing the next thing, and cherish experiences and relationships.
With his instinctual tendency to perceive experiences negatively, feed negative beliefs, create false beliefs, dwell and catastrophe, our conversation yielded clarity about and enthusiasm for his agency for instead “playing detective” to notice, celebrate and invest in what is good, sources of gratitude and appreciation. Keeping in the present, staying mindful, and nurturing and engaging more with the sources of gratitude- abundance!

We spoke appreciation for what is, what he has, his accomplishments (particularly in his pride of his children), and what he is grateful for- abundance, gratitude and contentment!
We spoke about releasing the mental and emotional weight of carrying the emotional clutter.
We spoke about his renewed investment in reading and sparking creativity and rediscovering imagination.
We spoke about intrinsic happiness & joy, and the power of service, altruistic kindness and trust that accompanies generosity and doing things for reasons other than oneself.
We spoke about connection, relationships and community and ensuring that his decisions about the people with whom he surrounds himself are aligned with his values and priorities, with emphasis on mutual energy and nurturance exchange.
Take some time to reflect on yourself- in what ways are you cultivating your abundance lifestyle?
